Agreed, cost of living is too high, too many wall streeters (which have a bad rep nowadays), and diversity is almost non-existant, public schools are average/good but don't expect much if your kid is special ed or gifted, but on the plus, proximity to NYC, nice walkable town streets, low crime, great parks, great private schools nearby and Waveny is great. I usually stay in the city for entertainment/the arts/social, and New Canaan is a great location for commuting.
